Eastern Shore Collection

At least once a summer, you’ll find my family sailing at the Eastern Shore. We’ll stay at the Inn at Perry Cabin on the Maryland side, then travel to the Virginia side in time for the annual Pony Swim on Chincoteague Island, with my Marguerite Henry book Misty of Chincoteague in my hand.

What We Stand For

  • Every product we sell is made one at a time by skilled artisans, using cherished traditions that have been passed down through generations. Working with these fair trade partners helps to support local artisans in their communities.

  • Beach Road is owned by Karen and Joy. We love supporting other female entrepreneurs and do so whenever possible. Visit our Collaborations page to learn more about our amazing small-business partners.

  • Our hat bands are made by a local Virginia seamstress, using 100% cotton fabric, printed on-demand (a process that reduces fabric waste and conserves energy and water). Our hats are made by artisans around the world from sustainable natural materials. Even our marketing materials are on printed on paper made from hemp and post-consumer recycled paper!

  • Beach Road supports a rotating selection of charities - one each month. Some are global, but most are local organizations that service the communities we love - Palm Beach, Nantucket, and the Florida Keys. Charity partners include groups that help kids and animals, Habitat for Humanity, and historic preservation. See our Charity Partners page for specific organizations.
